Default I found an 1157 LED bulb that fit my tail light socket

I've been keeping an eye out for an 1157 LED bulb that I could easily plug in to my tail light socket without modifying the bulb or socket. Most LED bulbs I've seen so far have a ridge that won't let the bulb seat into the harley socket. If you google or search amazon, try searching : biocheng 1157 led
It seems slightly brighter than stock brightness as a running light, and brightens nicely when the brake is applied. This bulb worked on my 86 FLST taillight socket.

Does it provide enough "side illumination" to light up the license plate? That's the thing that is stopping me.

Going to keep the conventional incandescents for the turn signals, as I don't want to deal with resistors and load equalizers (or what ever they are called) to make the turn signal module work correctly with LED's.

Thanks for the info. YD

I turned the oversize portion down on my lathe. Got a thread on it here somewhere. Works great. But glad someone makes one that is a more direct replacement.

YD, I changed my turn signal lighting too. Instead of adding a load equalizer, I changed the turn signal flasher to one that is LED compatible, First brand I ordered did not flash properly with the LED bulbs I purchased. But I did find another flasher that works perfectly for me. Try searching: AA1187a flasher iJDMTOY
It is slightly larger than the oem flasher so i had to cut off the plastic mounting tab, and just lay it into the space where the flasher pushes in, It's not perfect, but it did work perfectly with the LED turn signal bulbs I bought. I got it on amazon for under $10. I can look up the turn signal bulbs that worked if anyone is interested, 1156 bulbs for back and 1157 for front turn signals.

I'll need to check the biocheng bulb at night to see how well it lights my plate. It's a white bulb and lights around all sides. And it was 2 bulbs for $14 when I got it on Amazon.

I added a run turn brake unit for my '93 EG long time ago and swapped out all incandescent bulbs w/LED including instrument cluster. Works just fine. I did have issues with the tail light. Two different ones from Superbrightleds kept failing, brake light stopped working shortly after install only the running light worked, thought it was the connector. Put the original incandescent back in and that worked fine. Found Paradise Lights LLC https://paradiselightsllc.com/ and talked to Ed. Small shop and nice guy to talk to. This is ~150 watt tail light and he changed the connector to bayonet style. Ran about $45. Got it in about a week and it fits like a glove and is way brite. Hope this helps
