Default Evo CV carb question

Does anyone know what the extra elbow inlet circled in the picture below is used for? I only see it on some CV carbs (27504-96 in my case). It opens a little behind the throttle plate.

It's a vacuum port. Plug it off unless you need it for a vacuum operated petcock. And if you have one of those get rid of it! LOL!

I think that is for a vacuum line that goes to the VOES (Vacuum Operated Electrical Switch). At least on some Sportsters (EVO) it is.

Maybe. I have a 93 FXDL and it's plugged on mine.

I thought it was for the voes at first but there is already a brass nipple there for that in the usual place on the top side of the carb. The interesting thing is the vaccum port for the voes opens into the carb behind the throttle plate (engine side) and this plastic elbow opens a little front of the throttle plate(intake filter side) - not sure if that cause the vacuum felt to be different(especially at idle when the throttle plate is mostly closed) at those two ports.

I'll just plug it as i dont have a vacuum petcock and there is already a place for the voes vacuum hose. Thanks!!

Factory NOS port. Get a nitrous tank and plug it in. I'll hold your beer.

I realize its been a while, but how did plugging it go? I'm looking a the same problem that port has been open for years. the VOES is attached to the top port on the wrong side of the butterfly on my bike.
