Default Did oem Harley tires have the year stamped on them?

im changing the tires on my 88 fxr. They are the original tires. I noticed there is a stamp on them with 3 sets of numbers. The last one is 91. Why I ask is, the tank which as far as I know is original is a 91 tank with 91 emblems.
My title has it listed as a 88! If the tire is a 91 and the tank is a 91 something is screwy. Just trying to make heads or tails on this

doubt it.......date code is a 4 number designation in a oval..........example,2510....25th week of 2010.....no dashes.....look elsewhere for the oval.

and if you have tires that old....CHANGE THEM!!
THEY'RE GARBAGE AT THIS POINT!

What's the VIN? The year of the bike is in that.

I'm going to go with: The bike is a 1988. The tank is a 1991 and not original. The tire might be from 91 as well. The 4 digit (week and year) thing is relatively new. Not sure if they did that in 91.

You can enter your VIN on the H-D website to get confirmation of model year etc, just go to the Owners tab. That 91 number is suspicious! No way that will have benn added in 1988 IMHO and if there are no other date marks, that may indeed be when the tyres were made.

Not as the original tires but they could have been installed at the first tire change.

huh...turns out its a 1988 fxrs low rider...title only states fxr...
on the flip side though...I bought the bike with just under 3000 miles...why the heck would it have a new tank? ill never know! lol.....
with the tires, looking like 91's...and oem tires, I wonder if the past owner liked the new tank better and freaking changed it at its first service!...
