Default Cam plate and hi-flow oil pump

I'm having the 255 cams installed, super tuner, getting a Dyno tune, etc.... Is it worth the money to install the screaming Eagle support plate with high flow oil pump? What's the gain?

Bike is a 2014 softail slim

If i remember correctly your bike has very low miles. Save the money. Without that extra chit that the dealer probably recommended your bike isnt going to blow up like a grenade. Opinions are like ********, everyone has one. Report back on the improvements you get from the 255. It should be a kick in the ***.

My bikes both have the SE Cam plate and HV oil pump. They run @ 16#'s @ idle and @ 48#'s or so once the engine is warmed up and running highway speeds. There's nothing wrong with the factory oil pump so that's the only "gain" you'll see.

Of all the engines we build, actually daily, I can count on 1 hand the number of those cam plates we have installed..........and those were upon customer request.
Save your money.

Scott and Kirby, would you recommend the SE billet plate PN 25284-11 on a 2004 FI 95/ 98" build to upgrade to hydro tensioners or use a 07 up stock plate? I'm doing a lot of research for a build once i get back to the states and planned to use the billet plate. any advise or suggestions would be appreciated.

I would look into thayers sales and services new upgraded cam plate and oil pump setup. Dan told me R&R cycles and TMAN uses it on all there build setups it returns the oil back into the base instead of filling up the cam chest. saw his C&C machine producing them when I was getting my bike tuned at his shop. very nice setup.

That looks like a good kit from Thayer, pricey but a nice set up. it is just a SE plate and their "stage 3" oil pump, if the stock oil pump is good for "most builds" im really just looking to upgrade to the hydro cam chain adjusters and the SE oil pump will be just a bonus.

I'm thinking about installing the Tman 555 Torqster cam in mine. The 255 I currently have installed but it runs really hot. The 555 torqster from what I have been told holds the valves open longer to help get some of the hot gasses out of the motor, and supposedly has even a better performance. I'm not into speed but love that seat of the pants pull.

The 2004 plate is near bullet proof; still has out bearings. Replace tensioners with CYCO shoes and install the Drag Specialties hi capacity pump.
