you can use the 883 heads. but you will need dished 1200 pistons to bring down the compression ratio.

I am currently using 883 heads w/ 1200 jugs & KeithBlack Dished Pistons

Good decision, the 2003 and later Buell heads work great.

first time on this forumDidnt mesn to use all caps on questions that being said hope the Kieth Blacks are rollin tuff I got the KB924-020,my question is the head gasket is it mandatory to use a 020 over bore???I know the base gasket is a standard 12,cause of the sleeve but the head gaskets, ive only seen the 010 020 030 in thicknesss, not in overbore. What did you use???my first conversion got the barnett clutck pack andrew N4 cams Dyna dpst ignition module new rocker box gaskets new exhaust gaskets hi flow oil filter got the Arlen Ness super sucker S&S powertuned exhaust which im cool with my last hurdle is the head gasket, wanna, gonna get it right,Saw you used the Kieth Blacks, hope there rolling tuff, did you have to use an over bored head gasket?cant seem to find them.any an all info would help.Man i hope the kieth Blacks are tuff.it was a hard decision wiseco s.e hammer which i fell is the best short of nhrs, ill get the 1275 when i wanna spend a couple grand, for now 90 dollar new 1200 heads on ebay an the kith blacks eith my 883 heads, them dished kieth blacks look nice an the ring set up an oil ring an the flow line an the the whole piston set up seems awesome, will see.Any an all help will be appreciated.getting rid of the Arlen ness, the brether intake just causes to much carbon build up gonna go with the breather bolts or the banjo set up.Seems like it would reduce heat on a 10:0::1 compression..Hope the KBs are the right choice,Head gaskets???Part number or dud you just use a standard 12,any an all info would be appreciated to the fullest,RIDE SAFE BROTHERS!

Hey joey...i know it's your first time on the forum so I'll help you out. You should start your own thread with your question. You're currently trying to hijack this thread lol. Go to the sportster section and post a thread...youll get more help that way too. There's a bunch of smart guys That know sportsters very well and they'll get you heading in the right direction. Good luck

Just go to the Hammer Performance website for all your Sportster hop-up needs. Trust me. And, don't use them **** KB pistons.

XL's are just like any other HD engine.
Building power from them is straightforward.
