Dying on De-cel

Dying on De-cel
So I bought my first Harley last year (03 FLHTI, now with 38,000 miles) and have always had this lingering, but not crippling problem. On deceleration my bike will begin to stall. If I rev it a bit while slowing and coming to a stop, it will keep the engine going, and run without issue. I find it is the worst if I just pull in the clutch and coast in, rather than downshift through the gears. It will just sputter and chug until it either dies or I blip the throttle and revive its life. If it dies, it starts back up the first try. Originally, it was only occasionally after being at hwy speeds and then slowing for an off ramp or stop sign, but now its occurring more frequently after hwy speeds and now also occasionally in the city. I'm looking for some troubleshooting places to start.
-New SE plugs
-Outside temperature doesn't seem to have an influence
-Whether the engine has been running 10 min or ten hours, doesn't seem to matter either.
Thanks

update
So the bike began running a million times worse and wanting to chug and die everywhere. I replaced the intake manifold gaskets, after already cleaning the IAC and both had only minor temporary effects. Eventually I broke down and ripped out the power commander that came with the bike...and BAM! Bike fixed! Ok...every once in a while on a quick stop with clutch pulled in, the idle drops a bit, but it is night and day from before. Turns out it was just a stupid computer problem...go figure.
