Default Frustration builds on my 107 build!

I have been at a dead stop for two weeks now. It is all over getting the correct head gaskets. I have the cylinders on and can't go any further Until I get some .040' thick head gaskets and that has been like pulling teeth.

I had my bottom end built by Dark Horse. I got the Full Monte, weld, plug, balance, true the timken upgrade a H beam rods. It is a thing of beauty seeing those rods setting in the case.

So here is where the trouble starts. I'm checking my deck height and I get +.006". A wee bit much for comfort. I give the supplier of the kit a call and discuss this with him. We decide that a .040 gasket is the thing to do.

OK, lets get those gaskets and get on with this thing. Well here I sit two weeks later and still do not have the correct gaskets. I have received two different shipments of the same incorrect gasket but, I still do not have what I need, a 3.940 x .040 cometic gasket.

My intention here is not to bash The supplier of the kit. I spoke with the owner today and we are working to get this resolved. Hopefully in the next day or two. they have to get the gaskets from a supplier, who apparently thinks a 103 and a 107 take the same gasket.

on a positive note, I added the Diamond engineering twelve point bolt kit. That really adds a clean look to the whole engine area.

And I have a New D&D Fat Cat sitting there ready to install.

I thought I might have a tough time getting my .027" gasket so went straight to the source - called Cometic and got it but I did not have to worry about exchanging anything. Yeah, definitely don't want a 103" gasket, probably overhang the bore.

I have a set of .027" gaskets I cant use. I called cometic today, said the have to make the gaskets?
I just left it in the hands of the kit supplier, said he has a connection there.

Do they not have a 3.950" by .040"? AMS wanted me to get them 3.950" to have a bit more tolerance but they did not have them in the .027" thickness.

They say 3.938" on the package but the measure 3.955 and are .027 thick. the .040" thick is what I am having a hard time getting a hold of.

I have a set of MLS head gaskets. They came in a gasket set, but I didn't use these. They are for a 4" bore(measured dia 4.015"). They are .040" thick. I'll ship them out to you for $20. Pm me if interested.

I talked to my guy today. He assures me I'll have the correct gaskets tomorrow.

Thanks for the input and the offer to send gaskets.
