ive looked at this a few times. it 81-91 l grind then under 88-91 with different specs how would one know the diffrence

Some cams may have similar specs, but there are other factors that come into play when choosing the proper cam, for the intended application.

what does the L stand for? is that the cam maker? i live on a island so were in lack of education down here or maybe just me!
