engine is junk and wondering does a 96 fit in place of an 88 or are they different mounts?

 

you can certainly fit a 96 in there. the difference between the two motors is the crank and stroke is longer on a 96. Before you venture into this too deep call Scotty at Hillside Cycle to get more educated information on what your options are.
