Default Flange Retaining Ring Pliers

Does anyone know where I can get a pair of inexpensive flange retaining ring pliers?

I've got snap ring pliers but they won't work on the flange ring. I saw a pair on Sear's website but they were 55 bucks.

Thanks.

Plunder through those $10 grab-bag specials you see at parts and equipment houses when you get close. I have ran across some pretty good stuff in there more than once.

Are you talking about the exhaust flange rings?

I just slide them off and back on with regular pliers or my hands. Never have used special pliers on the exhaust cir clips.

Yep....that's why I wanted to make sure what bama was talking about. You can pry the suckers off with a screwdriver over the end if you need to. Pry them back on and bend 'em a little to make sure they go back down in the slot in the flange and they will self-heal themselves when you put the pipes back on.

I do have a set of the pliers he is talking about for things like transmission and gear-box work, but I would not go purchase a pair just for the exhaust clips.
