Default TC 96 cam tensioners

Just wondering if the new cam tensioners in 07 and newer bikes are working better/not wearing as quickly as the older TC88 cam tensioners. Mine on my 05 FLHT showed a small to moderate amount of wear at 22,500 miles and have heard of them completely going out on a buddy of mine at 35,000, screwing the engine up and they still have never gotten it right since. Saw one guys tensioners at a little over 60,000 and they, as you can imagine were worn deep, but had yet to fail, yet.

Mine are looking good at 35K. In '07 HD changed the composition of the tensioner shoes and changed the design of the cam chains. These two changes are supposed to make the chain tensioners live longer. Time will tell, I had to replace the tensioners on my '03 at 50K miles, we'll see if the ones in my '07 do better.
