The old spinning starter gig

The old spinning starter gig
Bought a 98 wide glide last fall. Been starting great, no signs of trouble, then the dreaded spin only.
Replaced the starter clutch with an All *****, rebuilt the solenoid, replaced the relay, cleaned up the grounds
and checked the wiring best I could. It throws the jack shaft out fine but only spins inside the starter.
Battery is new and fully charged. I'm guessing I need to replace more starter parts? Or did I get a bad clutch?
(the jackshaft will easily turn in both directions, same as before I changed the clutch)
Thanks for any insight.

Starter has a sprag clutch. Starter motor drives it with roller pins. Can't slip. Now if you say kept starter button down, once gas motor is running, it out runs the starter motor and the drive pins run down the ramps inside completely disengages the pinion gear from the starter motor.
Basically like the rear wheel on a 10 speed bicycle. Harley has roller pins kept in tension by rectangle shaped coil springs.
Never seen inside a All Ball one. Been wondering if it uses ball bearings for the drive rather then roller pins.

Your back to the clutch assembly or an installation something that go missed. New one can be bad out of the box, rare but has happened.
