2006 Dyna wide glide cam tensioners.
Hi guys, It’s my understanding that all 2006 models came equipped with the spring loaded tensioners except the dyna. They received the hydraulic tensioners. I plan on doing a S&S 98 big bore kit and also doing upgraded cams as well. The bike has 30k on it. While I’m in the cam chest I plan on replacing the stock hydraulic tensioners and cam bearings. Should I do the cam plate and oil pump as well? Don’t want to open this thing up again.

Provided there's no excessive wear on inspection, the stock pump and plate is just fine since apparently you have the updated pump and plate that came out in 07 for other models?
Just be sure to re-align the pump or you WILL end up with excessive wear. Also check/clean the oil pressure relief valve and make sure it moves freely. I like to buff them out regardless just to be sure. Some like to replace the spring with an aftermarket like the baisley or stretch the stock one slightly. Not sure it's really necessary tho. Up to you. Too high of oil pressure can be problematic too as these aren't high pressure systems. The only real benefit to upgraded oil pumps imo is improved scavenging. Unless you've had sumping issues I don't see that as necessary in your case either. That's the only reason I decided to do a last minute upgrade on my 107 build to a DT 3 stage pump/plate but I also run sustained high rpm.
