585 cam worries
I have a 103 with stage one, magnaflow rockstar exhaust, hi flow air cleaner. I have just ordered a 110 stage 3 kit ( 92500035 ) with a 585 cam, cnc ported head ( twin cooled ) , cam plate with hiflow oil pump, 58mm induction module with high flow injectors, all hd screamin eagle. My question is will the 585 cam be ok with the larger inlet valve in the cnc ported head, i dont want to hit the piston lol

Are the CNC ported heads 1650208? Stock chamber volume, intake valve is 1.875 and exhaust 1.575 and springs that will accommodate cams with lift up to .585? The kit pistons are domed with notches for the valves. Probably shouldn't be an issue but if concerned use some clay and see if the intake lands in the notch. The notch will be deep enough, just want to make sure the larger diameter intake doesn't make contact outside the notch. Not familar with the kit but that's the way to check for clearance if worried about contact. I am **** enough that I woudl check but that's just me. Valve springs for .585 lift cams and cams with .585 lift sounds like a tight fit but the springs will probably accommodate lift near .600" lift cams.

Is the 585 cam the S&S or the SE? The intake close events are very differernt; SE intake closes at 36* and S&S closes at 45*. If the SE 585, you will need to use compression releases and a good tune; CCP is 200+psi.
