You're already at a power level that will stress the stock crank. I went with the S&S crank with mine because it was .008.
When I looked at both of them side by side I could see my money was well spent.
I'm .0015 now and went gear drive to do away with the tensioners.
That's 2 less things to worry about..

Well, lol, it’ll also probably run on one cylinder, but that’s not something you would want to leave it as, right?
I would keep hydraulic cam guide shoes in it and dont do any more performance parts .. I wouldnt run a geardrive setup with that runout.. With the ridiculous runout, that Harley finds acceptable, it may have come that way from the factory ? However, that isnt horrible for a long term ride.. I have seen much worse that still ran.

i agree,a rebuilt OEM crank (rebuilt by ANYONE) cant compare to a S&S crank.most think the biggest problem with OEM cranks is not being true (witch is a problem) but what we see much more of is the rod bearings going south, and a good rebuild with stock, junk rods will not guarantee this wont happen, and having your crank rebuilt with good rods & your over the price of a S&S crank

This is how bad it can get. My son was riding my old bike to Milwaukee. At 1 point I noticed it sounding like he was dragging a chain. We made it home and I pulled it down to find this.... and rebuilt it with a Revolution Performance Performance Hot Forge Plugged Trued and Welded ASM like this.

Are they in Canton, OH? Talked to them not long ago about the possibility of going that rout if I go wild this winter.

Thank you sir. I've been on their website. Seem like they know what they're doing too.

Wow. S&S advertises way better then that? From their twin cam flywheel listing “Assembly is trued to less than .0005" runout on pinion and sprocket shaft bearing surfaces, making them capable of higher rpm and fully compatible with gear drive cams.”

I’d not be happy the 2 thou after spending $1600. Did you not replace bearings?
