It was just in 3 weeks before for a 10k service. I over paid for an oil change, that is all they did to it I am sure. Glorified Jiffy Lube Station.
Get Ready. Dealer had mine last year for 183 days.
They blew up the "new short blocks" Twice!!
BTW, Harley does not sell or put short blocks in.
It's all pieced out.
Blew the first "short block" because they did not change the cam plate.
Heads on the stock/new motor where cracked through two bolt hole each
I bought this one so I wouldn't wrench on one anymore, especially with all the electronics that are on them.
Guess what? I can build that frickin M8 with my eyes closed now.

The Stage III would serve me better
Either way the lifter should not have come apart.
Why would you want a stage 3, if you never rev over 3,500?

Anyhow, sometimes things fail. Hope they take care of you.

2020 RGL from day one it sounded off . HD normal all do it. OK. at 490 miles HD voided my warranty for sidecar so what. At just under 12,000 miles I decided to do cam. Manly out of concern for lifters. Of course you do lifters while in there. It had two bad lifters and HD's term frosting on all CAM lobes.
Do yourself and your bike a favor get rid of HD lifters

Come on man...they "fixed" the flywheels and eliminated one crappy inner cam bearings on the m8. You didn't expect them to fix all of their junk parts in one new engine design did you? Same crappy lifters that have been used for years. I understand it's a new bike and it shouldn't break but it did and that's what a warranty is for. Sucks to be without a bike for that long but to the guy who said he's getting a lawyer...good luck...harley has 20 of those in stock lol. Hope it works out for you guys.

How many M8 flywheels have failed. The 99B lifters were pretty good.

Yes.

Selling dealer wouldn't fix it. Another dealer did, under warranty (5 mos, 13k miles).

That was 11/2020. This year, the balancer bearing let go, & HD warrantied a short block.

At just under 12,000 2020 RGL had two bad lifters. HD rejected warranty coverage. So I installed S&S lifters and Woods 22X cam Fuel moto 2-1-2 header and Dynojet power vision tune. Now run like it should.
