Default Engine VIN number....confused

Getting an engine used from a local guy. Just wanted to check to make sure it is what he says it is. I have looked around for VIN decoders but they need all 17 digits and I only have what is on the engine. The explanations I have seen don't really seem to make sense.

The number is FSW67057104

Any help would be much appreciated.

That is not an HD VIN. If the motor is from '81 up, the first three digits identify the origin of manufacture:

1HD=manufactured for domestic (US) sale
5HD=manufactured for international sale
932=manufactured for sale in Brazil
MEG=manufactured for sale in India

If you can't get a true HD VIN, run away.

Depending on the year. The engine number is part of the VIN. Full shot of the engine may help. I looked through what I have and came up with nothing .

Did the full picture not show up? It is proposed to be a 06 Twin 88. The 7th digit is 5 which means it should be a 96". Based off pictures searching through the net it appears to be an 07 96".

It's a 2006 Road Glide

Engine Numbers Decode from a VIN Number as such

1HD1FSW136Y705710

FSW is the model designator, 6 is the year, and the 6 digit number is the 'serial number' of the bike. In my example, the only thing that could be different, depending the bike's original destination would be the '13' before the 6.

EDIT: Upon a quick check of H-D dealer website, the actual VIN this engine was in, was 1HD1FSW156Y705710 - Chopper Blue 2006 FLTRI - originally sold from Hacienda HD, May 2006.
