.140" lifter load is based on a .200" travel plunger.
Out methodology here for almost 15 years now, day in/day out.

Thank you. Since I think my real problem is my non OEM valves are short by .04 stem height, I am not going to throw pushrods and rockers in it. I am going to take the base of the rocker off by surface grinding it to get at least .100 into the plunger.
I don't think that is a good idea.
You will change your rocker ratio.
.0.04 is not worth thinking about for stem HT.
Your engine moves more than that
Would be no different then getting expensive custom pushrods.
Ratio I think is determined by length difference between center of rocker piviot to valve stem and the other way to pushrod.
You did make me think if my bolts are 5/16 - 18 and I need to go into lifter .073, do I take only have the amount.
I bolt turn is .055 and on 4 valves is what I have. (4 seat where out of round .005 which dropped valve) others (only required a slight lap) are only a half turn going into lifter only .027
Kind of thinking .027 in the center gets me .055
