After changing the cams before you do the pushrods do you add any oil to the cam chest ?

Thanks

well if you plan on a startup soon, probably would not be of a benefit. just make sure the journals and gears have a good coating of oil. any oil you pour into there will be scavenged out fairly quickly and return oil from the crank and valve train will get there soon enough. if you were to set it up long term, then a prelube would be of help. this can be done several ways and oil is forced through out the system, you will have to make an adapter of sorts but easy enough to do.

I used liberal amounts of assembly lube on all contact areas of the cams, bearings, bushings, lobes, lifters and shoes.

If you just did cams and not the cylinders and pistons and rings I would just go pretty much normal oil change and keep an eye on any kind of metallic Rez doing the oil. should be good, they're not big wearing items like rings and cylinders
