Couple more minor things, finished up front rocker arms/pushrods, and installed the throttle body and AC.
I ended up going with the R&R Overflow air cleaner. I'm not sure what I think of it. The backing plate is a solid piece and the radius to the throttle body is really smooth. Also, the air filter itself is considerably taller than the standard stage 1 setup. There's no question it will flow well, and I can feel comfortable that it won't be a restriction. The backing plate mounting system however, is pretty weak. The backing plate threads to the throttle body with the 3 standoffs, but only attaches to the rear head with one slotted bracket and one small bolt. Probably wouldn't be a big deal with a standard 1 piece throttle body/intake manifold, but with the 2 piece SE 58mm, there's nothing holding the TB to the manifold other than a rubber seal, and the air cleaner mount. So my throttle body is only really attached to the bike by one little bolt attached to a slotted bracket. With everything tighted up it feels reasonably secure, but I can definitely wiggle it a bit. For the $250 it costs, I'm less than impressed. I'm going to probably have to figure out a way to put another bracket on the front that will clear the throttle cables, or cut my losses and go with a different setup. Plus the tall filter is probably going to be annoying.

That sucks that you only have one bracket to hold the AC.. Not sure what they are thinking.. Heck with 2 bolts, I've had the AC come loose.. The breather bolt setup you got is good tho.. SnS started making those bolts a few years ago now everyone is using them.. The banjos suck as they rely on Viton covered shims to seal. I either make my own or use banjos off of the old SE AC and machine O ring grooves into them. Use Viton O rings. Don't need to mess with sealer that way.

It's not just the air cleaner coming loose I'm worried about, it's the fact that the one little bolt is the only thing physically holding the throttle body to the manifold, other than the friction from the rubber seal. I can see it could shift and cause a vacuum leak. I just find it hard to believe that they don't have a better mount system, especially since this ac setup is designed to work with the SE 58mm throttle body.

What seems the oddest to me is the connection between the tb and the manifold - does it not have any slip fit or does it just butt up against each other with the seal between? A lot of SE 58s in use so it must not be a problem though.

The end of the throttle body fits into the opening of the intake manifold, with the seal fitting over the edge of the opening it's a fairly tight seal, in fact I struggled to get it to fit together. I'm sure it will be fine, but I'd just prefer a more solid mechanical connection.
