I spent way more money on the whole deal than I should have, but it puts a smile on my face every time I twist the throttle. There's no question it's got plenty of power. Anything more than this would just be for bragging rights or racing in my opinion.

3 year check in? About to do something similar to my '09. Going with a Zippers 107 Muscle kit. My crank needs trued, welded and pinned or replaced. Thinking about a Darkhorse howver that makes my budget go way up... Your stuff all still going well? I just spent the last 2 hours reading the entire thread....

I have no complaints. It's given me no trouble at all since the motor build. When I ride it normally it behaves well enough, but I still haven't got bored with how it pulls when I crack the throttle, especially in higher gears.
Honestly, I probably would have been fine with something a little milder/cheaper, but I have no regrets with what I ended up with.

That's a good question. I probably could have bought a complete motor for around what I have into this one, but what's the fun in that? Someone once told me "It doesn't take any talent to write a check to have someone do it for you" and I've lived my whole life by that mantra. Sometimes to my detriment.
