I used the seals and flanges that came with the SE manifold. Everything fit together nicely, but it seemed to me like the seals should have been thicker for a tighter seal. Looking at it now, it's quite obvious that I have it installed wrong.

This picture was taken when I first suspected and then confirmed an intake vacuum leak. I took it apart, added a light bead of high temp RTV, and reinstalled it, being careful to make sure the seal lined up. Of course, that's all irrelevant if it's assembled incorrectly in the first place.

I suppose that's one of the dangers of taking something apart and putting it back together several months later.

Are you sure that the ends of the manifold are not resting on the heads? When I decked my heads I had remove material from the manifold to let the manifold go down further to line up so the seals were centered.

I talked to the shop yesterday, they correctly installed the manifold flanges for me and confirmed that solved the idle issue.

Should be on the dyno early next week.

That's good to hear, interested to see your results

I got my parts last Friday, plan on spending some time out in the garage this weekend.
