Default Why is my front cylinder singing to me?

Trying to chase down the chatter coming from the front cylinder. It seems to be coming from the exhaust side. 107 build with headwork.
I thought it was the lifters so I replaced those. Still getting the clacking. The noise does get faster as the rpms increase. I tried to capture that on the video.

Has the noise been present since the rebuild? What pushrods?

SE tapered set to 3 full turns and 2 flats. It came on about 200 miles into the new build. I have a little over 500 on it now.
Baisely bored the cylinders to fit my cp pistons.

Sounds like maybe pushrods rubbing on the tubes. Odd that it would "develop" tho.

Staying tuned to see what the cause turns out to be.

I had the heads off and they looked fine. Valves were seated and all the hardware was there. No signs of the rockers hitting the cover. I ordered a boroscope from Amazon so I'll take a peak in the cylinders tomorrow.

I was chasing a similar noise in mine I put new lifters in and that did not solve anything, I adjusted the pushrods a gazilion times that never helped, no rub marks on tubes. One day I had the outer primary cover off and started the bike for a minute and I dentified the sound was coming from the clutch hub area. I replaced the clutch hub bearing and still had the noise. so I had the bike on the jack took off the the clutch hub put the transmission in nuetral and spun the reaer tire. The noise was behind the main drive pulley so I pulled it off and found the main drive gear bearing was toast. I am almost done with that job. Your bike is newer than mine so I dont know if that will help. I am just sharing my experience.

By the video it sounds as if a pushrod loosened up... It is possible that one of the pushrod loosened up. Did you recheck them? What is the tpi of your pushrods? Did you set the preload to .140"? A 32 tpi would require 4 1/2 turns out or 27 flats and a 24 tpi would require 3 1/3 turns out or 20 flats.

Also because you replaced the cams did you check your oil pressure.

^2nd last thought. I installed geared cams in my 05 softail with S&S adjustable rods. about 350 miles later 1 back cylinder rod collapsed (loosened up). I had a similar sound. Just extended it, redid preload tpi stuff, and retightened the jamnuts on the rods the right way. Good to go
