Default 88" to 96" top end

Can I put a upper end (jugs pistons etc) from a 96" (08 Roadking) on my 88" lower end (99 FLHTPI)?

I've heard both ways...

Thanks in advance.

Cylinders and heads will retrofit but no go on the pistons.

Default Pistons?

So does that mean it would be a connecting rod issue or length of piston? Appreciate the info, just trying to narrow things down.

Piston issue. The longer stroke of the 96" motor required the relocation of the piston pin boss to compensate for the longer stroke; connecting rods are the same length. You just need a piston for the TC88. Don't know what you have in mind but might consider a piston with a small dome to bump up compression.

The cylinders have the same bore, therefore putting the 96 cylinders on an 88 will still keep it an 88. Not sure if you were thinking it would grow in cubic inches or just trying to refresh your top end.
