I just got in a set of cyclerama 575 cams off a member here (doc, a great person to work with) and I plan on re-using the stock push rods and was thinking I would be ok with the stock lifters as well. My night train has 16000 miles on it and runs great. I research I have seen is a little wishy washy on how long the lifters hold out. I am not going to do any more performance cause I am doing this cam swap simply to swap the bearings and add a little more fun to the bike. My choice in cam was decided cause I wanted more mid range power over peak rpm power. Any suggestions on the lifter issue will help me out a ton
Comp Cams 850-1 I believe is what some in here use if they don't go to S&S standards, which I used. Those were $115. The Comp Cams units are $80 or so.
Looked into the comp cams lifters and they look promising for a good replacement lifter. I will measure the base circle of the cams to see if they will work with the stock push rods. I am sure it will work

The lifters will work. The base circle is .020" smaller than stock, so they will work. Could be a little valve train noise but if so, you can always replace the stock pushrods with adjustables and run more preload.......
If the base circle is indeed .020 smaller than stock the oem push rods will work fine. As long as they hold pressure like they should I should not notice any valve noise
I'd suspect that at 16,000 on the clock, the OE lifter will work.
Keep your ear open for noise upon start-up.
WE are a subscriber to an adjustable pushrod in order to load the lifter to .140".
That cam is not a noisy grind as a rule.
Installed another one 2 days ago in a 110".

That's the unknown with the OEM lifters and why adjustable pushrods may be required for a quiet valve train. The OP won't know until he tries the 575 cams with the OEM pushrods.
