Default Shovelhead pistons orientation

Hey guys,

I bought a set of shovelhead pistons from VTwin

http://www.vtwinmfg.com/webapp/wcs/s...102_3290921_-1

I cannot seem to figure out orientation, there is no markings showing intake/exhaust. S&S has intake stamped on top of their piston.

Could it be there is no difference?

Thanks for your help!

If those pistons have one valve relief larger than the other, then that would dictate the intake side.

I have measured the width of the indents and they measure the same, they appear to be slightly offset from one another in location to wrist pin, but really hard to see that. I just find it odd that they did not give any directions and even the ones on the link I sent were of no help. I have reached out to VTwin manufacturing to see what they have to say.

The guy I bought them from said there is no intake or exhaust sides to the piston on this set of Pistons. It can be installed either way. Just thought I would not leave the thread open.

Thanks!

Those imported pistons will have a VERY tight wrist pin bore as well.
