Looking to install compression releases in an Evo motor but have never machined a head before. Which brand releases should I use?
I see that Jims makes a guide tool with drill bits and all but it says it's for Twin cam motors. Is there a specific tool for Evo heads? I plan on using mechanical not electric..

My compression is so high that the starter sounds like an electronic capacitor loading up and then firing off.... I don't want to cause any premature starter issues or for that matter get stranded somewhere. Thanx.

 

we only use GOODSON releases.do you have a mill? we made a fixture for machining compression releases in a mill,i can give you angles & other data of where to put them.

 

No i don't have a mill and after doing some research i think I'm gonna have to just send them out.... I have to much invested in the heads and don't want to ruin them...

seriously though, I will say this, I am really getting tired of working on this ride. It's not that it has all these major issues or anything but the upgrading never "AND I MEAN NEVER EVER ENDS.............................................. .........

 

I never been on Long Island .... Hmmm, maybe it's time! As far as the "never ending upgrade" ... Yep, it's a common occurrence/affliction. :>(
