It's incredible how much the pipe makes a difference. I was assuming that I would be better all around including HP with the D&D but no such luck. The fat cat would probably have charged the curve and kept the numbers but I had to give up some power for my no cutout stretched bags. I was assuming logically that the shorter pipes help with HP and the longer ones help with tq but there is obviously some variances in there.

Hands down, the stubby cat. Remember it's torque that gets you there and hp to maintain it.

The diameter of the head pipes, along with the length(s) and the diameter of baffle will effect things. Also the temp and humidity on the day the dyno was done. Don't assume that the D&D actually made 10 hp less than the other exhaust unless you have them tested back to back. Also the Akropovic may very well feel faster due to the kick it will have when it comes "on the pipe" but have poorer roll on manners.

I would say it depends on how you ride. If your aggressive and like to accelerate without down shifting go with the D&D. If you do a lot of highway miles and cruise around 3K a lot I would go with the Akra. I say that because you will get a lot better milage with a slight HP plateau at cruising speed and will be able to maintain speed a lot easier. You would have to downshift to pass though. If you are doing something to up the compression, then definitely go with the Akra, you will get rid of most, if not all, of that dip.

Good points gents, I also thought about the conditions factor as well being the last tune for the akra was mid winter with some nice cold dry air and the other was done yesterday with more mild temperature air and more humidity. I replaced the akrapovic with the D&D so I am not going back. There are some other positives with the D&D as well like sound being further back and not quite a s loud. I also like the look of the D&D better I didn't at first but its grown on me.
