Default Should I have my TC88 flywheels rebuilt?

Guys,

I have a 2001 Road King that I am working on. My mechanic pulled my motor so that paint my frame. While it is out, I am gonna throw a Zippers big bore kit 95" kit on.

Upon inspection of the stock cyclinders, we found some wear on the walls. He checked my flywheels and said that they needed to be replaced. He said something about "no play" or "too much play"

I am trying to avoid spending $1200 on a set of new flywheels. Is having them rebuilt worth the money and savings?

Good ol forged crank with Timken bearings. Ye rebuild it! Should last forever now. Could even stroke it.

This is the way to go. Same money spent and big gains over the 88

We have a 4" A-engine crank here, fresh from Hoban Bros., welded/trued/pro-pluged and fully re-built including wrist pin bushings, never run......$750.00.
No reason not to bore to 98", btw.

I wouldn't do anything until I saw the dial indicator measuring crank runout. The pre '03 lower units were dang near bullet proof; possible but not likely that the crank needs attention. Only way to know for sure is to measure.
