Stage Two Done Kury 24D Cams, dip in dyno curve HELP
#11
It would solve the issue but I have stretched bags without any outlets and I really like the pipe and sound of the pipe. I am not really super worried about the dip just was curious if anyone had experience with it and if anything was possible to help the current situation.

As others have noted the dip is very likely from the exhaust system. If you are able to get back to the dyno for some testing I would do some experimenting with the baffle. Generally speaking you may not be able to feel this dip regardless as the run was started really early, looks like a good runner!

It depends on what the motor wants, I believe the baffle in the Akrapovic FLH 2/1 has only a 2" core which is too small. It appears the pipe is not over scavenging or flowing too much, the flow is actually coming up short. My first test would be to remove the baffle completely and see how the motor responds, when doing testing of this nature here we generally would fabricate baffles in various sizes and then test them back to back.

Agree with the comments on the exhaust but am curious what heads you are running with the Kury cams? If not running the Kury heads or head worked by Bob Wright or John Sachs or another porter that understands the Kury cams, the heads may also be contributing to the problem and, I suspect, less than optimum performance. Compatible heads are a key component to optimize performance from Kury cams.
Having said that, I am betting the dip doesn't register on the butt dyno.

Thanks for the comments friends, Bob Wright actually is good buddies with the guy who tuned it for me it's actually Bobs old dyno. Anyway Rob the guy who tuned it for me called Bob directly and he said it's the pipes and he could keep tuning till he's blue in the face but the dip will not disappear without an exhaust change. So that being said I'm just going to rock it the way she is and enjoy it! Thanks again

[QUOTE=WG2011;14626241 I will say that I have extended bags without cutouts for a long two into one or duals so I am probably just going to deal with....[/QUOTE]
Looks vs Performance..... Always a battle with our Turing / Fun bike...
If it was a race bike, easy choice..... If it was a garage queen, just as easy opposite choice..... But oh the woes of balance :-)
I hated to leave on my chrome cover for the air cleaner..... But it looks so good lol at the end of the day - I was ok with the 5 TQ / 3 HP hit to keep it
