Default Gear driven verses chain driven cams

I need to replace the cams in my 01 FLHRCI and my shop suggested S&S gear driven cam instead of Harleys chain driven. Any ideas on this?
Also they will hone cylinders, new rings, lifters oil pump and guides and using top of line parts not cheap stuff will charge around $3200.00 for everything, does that sound like a reasonable price?
Thanks for any feed back.

Sounds high but You really don't state why the new rings.. If your gonna do a complete tear down you really should just do a107" kit. Kirby (aka prodrag1320) forum sponser has his shop in Florida. He can set you up no problem and for gear cams you need to have the run out checked the crank to see if you can even do gear cams. Trueing a crank ain't cheap....

A 107" requires splitting the cases and having them bored to accept 4-1/8" pistons with a 4" stroke.

Call prodrag1320, Kirby Apathy at VeeTwin Performance before signing up with your local shop. Professional shop, many different packages and I am pretty sure Kirby can save you some $$.
