torquing head bolts?

Had the same issue when I did the top end on my friends EVO with Cometic .030, smooth until final torqe. The bike runs fine no issues.

well, that gives me confidence....thanks!

still a bit weary, though...we'll see when I start her in a few days

the only reason I can see why it does this is because there's no real squish to the MLS cometics....i mean, you hit a point, and that's it....and cometic wants you to go that little extra way...nerve-racking, though, because you can't get an accurate reading at that point

I put in the .027s mls this spring, & followed their instructions. Have just under 1k on it since the change and no issues. Used a click type tq wrench, cannt say I noticed any skipping as you describe. When it' gets close I give it a nice smooth pull right up to the click.

Does this 'skip' feel like the socket tool jumped a tooth?
