Default Lifter question

Changing cams and have 23k miles on current lifters. Was looking at the Jonhson V2313 lifters and saw they offered a 2313s and 2313se version for heavy springs. I just got some heads with .600 springs and plan on running cams with .575 lift - should I get the upgraded lifters or is this unnecessary for the springs and cams I plan on using? Thanks.

Used Johnson Hylift 2313SE lifters from AMS in my latest 95" build. Never a click or noise from them from first startup to today, when the new motor turned over 1000 miles. Made a believer out of me.

Read all of the threads about lifter issues on the forums. Not a good place to cut corners.

My understanding is the v-2313 is a good lifter. I don't have a problem upgrading to the s or se version - just wanted to make sure they are even appropriate for my build. What kind of springs and cams are you running with the se lifters? Is there any downside to a lifter having to little leak down if used with too light a spring?

Using AV&V .650" lift beehive springs and Crane 296 cams. There is no downside to using a better lifter and the SE has a ring groove and improved valving to provide more consistent oil flow to the top end.

Default Oem

Oem lifters work very well but if you feel the need to replace use S&S and install the HL2T shims, you will not believe the ease of hot restarts. One thing to note is that not all pushrods ball ends at the lifter match . some are larger and some are smaller. I would definitely match the manufacturer to both lifter and Pushrod. I was using Revtech adjustables and you should have seen what it did to the ball on the pushrods. Never could get rid of the noise till Scott gave me new S&S adjustables. Quiet as a church mouse...with woods cams.....
