This is exactly why I wouldn't touch the 120R ever. The idea that it has no warranty is absurd, especially with it propensity to eat cranks, lifters, cam bearings etc...

Cycle-rama is right around the corner from you and Russ is a wealth of information and very good at what he does. Go by his shop.

Considering the cam is available from a dealer, I think it will be popular. It should perform well with good heads; maybe a good fit with the SE CNC heads?

Default Massive Failure on 120R with only 100 miles on it, dealer negligence

It was complete negligence on the dealers build, they dropped in a new 120R and installed a Procharger, more then doubled the HP & TQ, put on a Jims Clutch, but never changed out the stock Clutch housing, ya know that porous aluminum stock basket, one mechanic called it pot metal, lol. Def needed to be upgraded to the billet style. Upon opening the casings after the catastrophic failure, that stock aluminum basket was in a million pieces.

I have tons of documentation, photos just after failure, one Harley mechanic who saw it goes "ooohhh, rookie mistake, some one is going to lose their job over this one"

The motor shaft and transmission shaft are bent so badly past failure that the entire motor must be swapped out with a new 120R and the transmission as well, a complete change out. The mechanics said they haven't seen a failure like this before but it has put so much stress on the motor and trans housing, that they are now safety hazzards. What truly blew me away was how I was treated afterwards. That's another e-mail, I believe the fact that they built me a bike that almost killed me the first time out on it because they forgot to upgrade such a weakened part to begin with trumps their "sorry, it's been modified and no longer has a warranty" that would have worked if you designed, engineered, and built a bike like professionals. It's been a year, it still in my garage with 100 miles on it.

Filing legal documents tomorrow, I just feel completely ripped off, lied to, there's a lot more that goes into this, highly unethical, and the worst professional buying experience of my life. That's all for now, I just want my bike fixed so I can ride...keep ya posted..This file going out is literally 3" thick, a picture tells a story don't it !

While your statement may be true this thread was started to make people aware of the 120ST. And it "does" have a warrantee when conditions are met.

That $500 billet basket sounds cheap now... Sorry to hear about your troubles. I would have had a hard time not choking the dude that laughed and said "rookie mistake"

Negligence of the dealer, OK, I get that. However, hooking up a 120R, out of the box, with a Procharger was just a bad idea and a recipe for disaster. Pull the crate motor down and prep it for the abuse the Procharger will lay on, then maybe you get 15K miles out of it before something breaks.

I always went to H.D., never let anyone else touch my bike, was incredibly loyal, I thought bigger company better backing, stick with the big dogs also incase of liability /safety issues, the **** I left out is even more unprofessional. I'm not hear to upset anyone, I never in a million years expected to be "f***ed over by "My" Harley Dealership, they did t with a hand shake and a smile and stuck it far up my ***. I'm still stunned. Ok, boys, I'm done, this rant is over, go back to chasing your beautiful women around the house
