98' Evo Bagger Gas Gauge problem.....
Well, this is not a big deal now, if this gauge fails I could be in trouble...
The gas gauge on my 98' Ultra Classic reads correctly. However, it has a little twitch and has a not so steady reading. Are these gauges known to go bad? Should I be checking ground wires or is it a unit in the tank or something?
Thanks all

Define a little twitching?
Gas gauge should be rather solid once the bike is started.
The odometer is a better gauge of fuel remaining.
At 150 miles you should have over a gallon of fuel remaining.
Does the reserve light function?
When the rear is overloaded the angle of the tank changes and this can make the gauge or reserve light act incorrectly especially if the rear shocks are worn.
Finally, the gauge is suppose to have a dampner for vibration, slushing of fuel during accel. / braking and such.

Ah...it must be the dampner.
At idle, while running, etc it kind of jumps just may 2mm if that, kind of bounces. Bad ground?
The low fuel light, all gauges work great.
It just bugs me. It was a solid needle on the gauge for years then all of a sudden it twitches I should say, more of like a stat-icy twitch.
