I have an 06 Ultra Classic. My voltage meter usually reads over 14 while riding and recently it has been dropping below 11 for a short time and then jumping back up while riding.
On a very long ride it continued to do this until the bike totally died on the side of the road. The battery is only about 6 months old.
Not sure if the issue is the stator or voltage regulator or something else. Any advice on what to check first?

 

Most likely it's the voltage regulator, but I would troubleshoot using the info in the stickies in this section, just to make sure the stator is OK.

 

Mine did that just before the regulator died. As the previous poster said troubleshoot it. If there is voltage coming from the stator it is probably the regulator.
