Default Calling HDF Tech on Lighting Question

HDF Tech

I found an old thread you posted about installing 2 filiment turn signals on the rear of the bike so you can have running lights as well. The link for the pics has expired. I've got my three wire signals and know how to run them into the tailight housing; I just don't know where to put the running light wires.

Can you hook a brother up?

Not really but I appreciate thre help. What I'm trying to figure is where to get the power from for the second filment in a set of rear turn signals. I'm thinking of crimping the the two running light power wires into the power lead of the license plate light.

My question is; will the running lights create too much draw on that circuit or is there a better way?

ok according the wiring diagram, the running lights are all tied together at the rear so you should be fine tapping in there. The wire color is Blue at the license plate light and is tied to the 15a light fuse in the fusebox.

The turn signal wires should be Violet/Brown on each side with black being ground.

Thanks Ultra! Found the wires and am now just trying to figure out how I wanna tap in. I'd rather not use a scotch lock so I may try to pull the little plug in for the license plate light power lead and try to open and crimp in the running light power leads.

Any better idea than that?

IMO there's an extra option by connecting the (spliced) blue (tail light) wires from the indicators to pin 1 in the three pin connector at the circuit board (see image) using a (3 Amp position) connectors (see images below)

Pin 1 = tail light
Pin 2 = brake light
Pin 3 = ground

Amp Socket Wiring Housing 3-Position p/n 73153-96BK

Receptacle Contact p/n 73191-96

FXD

You think I can get 3 wires crimped into one of those connectors? I'm gonna go grad some at the dealer and give it a try. Thanks man.
