Default Guages

I have a 2008 electra gluide police bike & i need to know a some info on hooking up an oil & an air guage in the dash ? I have the 2 guages & know how to get the power to the lights in them, but don't know what wires to put on the other plug to get them working, need help or a lead?

Thanks Pete

your bike should be the same as my 09.. wont' go into the power for the backlighting since you're already familiar with that aspect of it.

the oil pressure guage should have the following;
orange - ignition +12v - pin #1 (looking at back of guage left to right)
black - ground - pin #2 (looking at back of guage left to right)
the 3rd wire is brown/green and connects to main harness (2B) located inside the fairing. somewhere down the line this changes colors to green/yellow and connects to oil pressure switch itself

the air temp guage should have the following;
orange - ignition +12v - pin #1 (looking at back of guage left to right)
black - ground - pin #2 (looking at back of guage left to right)
3rd wire is blue/violet and goes to pin #1 on the air temperature sensor (seperate required component)
the air temp sensor has 3 pins. # 1 is the blue/violet wire as above.
# 2 is not used
# 3 is black and goes to ground.

all of the connectors/plugs throughout the bike's varying harnesses are labeled with a number. You might need a magnifying glass if you're as blind as I am to see the numbers. Each pin is also labeled on the connectors/plugs

Hope that helps pete103
