Blown fuse on Battery Tender wire.. now a speedo problem
This is the 2nd time my fuse has blown on the Battery Tender connector cable that's attached to the battery (yes I've got red to red and black to black). It's blown when the Battery Tender is NOT connected. I went on a 40-mile ride and on the way back I noticed my speedometer isn't registering the correct speed (reads 30mph while going about 55-60mph). Is there some weird electrical system goblin haunting my bike?
btw it's a 2001 FLHRCI
Thanks for any advice..

OK figured out the blown fuse issue - a little chunk of the Battery Tender cable was exposed and must have touched a nearby part of the frame. Anyway, the fuse thing happened BEFORE the speedometer issue, so I'm concluding they're completely unrelated. Anyway, reading up on HD tech stuff, it looks like I might need to check my VSS (vehicle speed sensor). Hmmm... I'm pretty new to the HD world and have no idea WHAT or WHERE that thing is.. or what to check for once I find it.
