breaker trips every time

Default breaker trips every time

got a mates 85-FXEF trike in my shed, someones had ago at the wiring and turned it into a birds nest, got most of it soughted out now, but the prob got is" every time i hook-up the feed wire from points {yes converted back to points" not by me}to base of coil it trips the breaker" ive back tracked most of the wiring and cannot pin-point the problem? anyone got ideas? as my 6lb hammer is lookin go at moment, fix just about anything with that lol. cheers

Well, for sure you have a dead short to ground. I almost think maybe be easier to yank everything out and start over. Most bikes have alot of wiring that is not essential. Might save some headaches starting from scratch. my .02. Could be a pinched wire, bare wire rubbing the frame, hard to tell over the net.
