Question Accessory switch for 09 Street Glide

I have an 09 Street Glide and want to add another accessory switch on the dash. To the right of the ignition switch there are 2 working rocker switchs and 2 blanks, with no switchs, on the left. The local Harley Shop said they are only available in a set of 4 attached to a wiring harness - $300 plus. This makes no sense to me. I would think they left the 2 blanks so you could add additional ones when needed and not have to buy 4 and a wiring harness. Anybody have any experience with this and if so where I could buy a couple without the wiring harness attached - all I want to add is the switch only. Thanks

71535-96 is the part # you're looking for.

the wiring comes attached so just cut the plug off the end of the wires and wire it up to suit your situation

Thanks UltraNutZ, I'll check that out tomorrow. I knew there had to be another option out there for me.

Order on line and stay away from that dealer. More and more I keep seeing parts guys having no clue what they are talking about.

Yeah that's the truth - for the record - THE DEALER WASN'T MY LOCAL DEALER, although it shouldn't matter. Like you say you'd think any parts person would know the difference but maybe I wasn't clear as to what I was asking for -

HD parts folks get paid on what they sell, hence the reason for the $300 part versus the $24 part. I got tired of being done the same way by local shops and ordered the parts manual for my bike. Now I just call them up and tell them exactly what I need. I certainly don't mind supporting my local HD shops when I can but when you try to screw me, I'm done with ya.

Yeah I've been gonna do that for too long - waiting. Got any ideas on the best one for an 09 Street Glide that's on line?

http://partsfinder.onlinemicrofiche....m_oem/hdmc.asp

pick your year
pick your model
add parts to cart
when you select checkout, the part number will be shown
take that and call your dealer and tell em what you need.
