Default rear stop light switch working ?, heres how to find out

well i posted last week if any one new how to troubleshoot the brake light. no one replied. so i bought a new pressure switch and began to
install, figuring its a 50/50 chance of working. after removing the two
lead wires my thoughts turned to seeing if the front brake switch would work ( with the switch disconnected) and eureka ! the rear brake light worked when the front brake lever was squeezed. (electrical theory 101) . so in the future now you know how to troubleshoot a defective rear brake light switch. the harley service
rep a bayside ( portsmouth ,va) said he didnt know and i would have to bring it in for diagnostics---rip off artist of course. now wheres that
damn light bulb........
