I own a 2000 Ultra with a Marrelli ECM,PCIII,Kuryakyn Hypercharger, and Vance&Hines slip-ons. I got stranded when the bike blew a 5amp fuse that goes to the ECM relay. I spent a week tracing wires and looking for a short. I found a loose ground on the triple tree but the fuse kept blowing. My engine light was acting normally, so I assumed that there were no trouble codes. When I would turn on the key the fuse was fine. When I turned on the handle bar run switch the fuse would blow. Finally I disconnected the PCIII, and plugged the main harness back into the ECM. This solved my problem, and the bike started up fine.Dynojet has offered to fix my harness on the PCIII, or offer me a discount on a new one. The previous owner of my bike installed the PCIII in '04 and I have put 14,000 miles on it in the last year with no problems. My local HD dealer says that HD does not recomend PC and will void any warranty on bikes that have them installed. They also told me that if I traded, they would NOT certify my bike because of the PC. The alternative is to use the unit that they recomend and to have it dyno checked, etc... all for the mere price of $700! that is of course if they don't find something else wrong. They also told me that I could not install the Dlphi ECM on that model. My question is, should I go with the PCII again or go with the HD part? I like to do most of my own maintenance but this is turning into a nightmare! Anyone ever had the same problem?
