Question Not a Harley but...little help?

My sons 50ccATV wont start. The Battery is Brand new , Thought it maybe starter Solenoid , but I put a new one of those and that just clicks when I hit the electric start.

I put a Voltage Meter on the starter terminals and When I hit the start Button I got 12.6v on the Meter....So is it the starter????

my kids had a arctic cat 50 and in order to start it you had to have the brake locked, key to on then start. if that dont work, check and see if you got spark.

did you charge the battery when you bought it? it may show 12v, but only when it just powers the meter, not when it powers the starter. try jumping it off of your car or something to fix this, also, first, check to make sure all connections are solid

Yes Charged up....When I hold the meter on the "Starter Terminals" not the battery...It shows 12.6-12.9 on the Meter when pushing the starter button

Hold your meter on the batter terminals and hit the starter button and if it drops below 10.2 then it is the battery.....but after you hit the starter and it drops does it go back up to 12 quickly...if it does then it is probably the starter, if you have changed the solenoid.

Just a guess. but that will tell you which it is and also make sure the cables are not corroded or broke down at the starter, you could be loosing volts if they are.

so starter button permits power all the way to starter but then nothing..is their a solenoid in the starter that gave up a ghost..or is it binding....would see drop in volts at battery when you press start if binding.
