90 sportster rear signals
Reinstalling original bullet style signal lights. The ones I purchased on ebay have theses cool fins or fairings that the light mounts to instead of the chrome spacers.
The fairings have a small notch to prevent from moving maybe....thing is my fender doesn't have a dimple to accommodate the notch. Should I just drill a small hole in the fender trim? Also....I'd rather use a hollow post to tread the wires through. Cant find 5/16th post. Thought maybe a lamp supply place. Thanks v

Yes, they are not the original style lights. Can you put the wires and dimple through the original fender hole and just drill a hole for the mounting screw? Post up a picture of your fender and what you are dealing with. Do you have the trim piece that goes over the struts?

Yes I have the chrome trim that with the reflector. First I thought the signals went to the furthest bolt holes on the fender but after looking at pix they go to the larger hole towards the front of the fender. Bike didn't come w original set up. Signal lights are combined w tail light. Would of been nice not to drill anymore holes but a small one for the dimple and another for wires is not a big deal I guess. Thanks v
