stator 'half-dead'?

probably... insulation failing between the coils but not into the iron core yet.
i had an 'episode' a few days ago with horrible traffic and heat, that may have precipitated the poor stator's doom

just a quck useless update, could ride it no problem to the indie shop (˜35 miles), voltage held up when above 2500, dropped to 12 at idle (did a full charge overnight beforehand so it did not drop as much as before)... getting there there was definitely burnt chicken smell, so there u go. they will probably get it out of the bike by wednesday to send it to the guy that refurbs those.

If it was me, I would not go with refurbished. I would either get an OEM Stator or a Cycle Electric Stator.

me too but living in the 4th world we need to play the cards we are given
CE would get here at double price and 4 weeks
HD same but maybe 2 weeks
cost to refurb $100 and 1 week

still havent got the bike back but yeah, stator was burnt on at least 3 coils. sux.
