Not charging....and feel like I'm missing something!
Good morning all! New to the group and have been pounding my head into a brick wall the past few days so looking for a little help!
Little background: Picked up a 2006 UltraGlide Classic from an estate sale. Last registered in 2018. Have been cleaning and debugging but can't get the charging system to cooperate.
Originally found that the voltage regulator was dead and ordered a new one. This is where I now sit:
-20-40VAC out of the stator depending on RPM (didn't go crazy revving the motor as I'm still bringing the bike back to life)
-14-16VDC out of regulator (Direct from pins on regulator) when running.
-New battery
When I put my meter on the battery and start the bike/build RPM I don't see any change to DC voltage. I've ohm'd out the cable from the Regulator to the 40A Maxi fuse and the negative battery cable and both are good. Maxi Fuse is good. I've been going through all the grounds I can find to be sure none are bad. I have not pulled the cable from the Regulator to the Battery yet but may be the next step. Verified the pins on the regulator are correct and the plug is in correctly.
Anyone seen a problem like this? I've watched countless Youtube Video's and looked through all the older posts I can find. Just feel Like I'm missing something simple.
Thanks in advance.

Have gone through the fuses but am going to go over everything again. I did get an "off-brand" regulator, but when I put my meter directly on the regulator with the motor on I get around 14V and when I bring up the RPM's it goes to about 16V which, from what I understand, is around the correct output. Hoping to dive a little deeper tonight and clean/check more grounds if possible and isolate anything I can. Electric is fun! (Said nobody ever)
