Default Life Span of a Battery Tender

Hi, I’ll start off by saying that I know nothing about electronics. I’m using a Harley badged “super smart” battery tender, and I’ve been using this same tender on my Harleys for at least ten years now. I keep my Freewheeler on the battery tender through the winter and quite often during the riding season. I don’t think there are any moving parts in this unit to breakdown, question is when does this become unsafe to use. I should point out it has never given me any trouble, am I overthinking this and it’s safe to use until it conks out, or, I’ve had great service with this tender and don’t push my luck and get a new one?
Thanks for any input.

Hey Douche, I replaced my battery tender jr. a couple of years ago after using it for about 10 years. Still worked fine, but wanted something with more current technology. I went with one from NOCO Genius and am pleased thus far. Yeah, you’re probably overthinking it as was I.

I have an HD one that is 10 plus years old still works. I have a Fleet farm one lasted a month. One on lawn mower out side protected from rain 5 plus years old. How long will they last? Until they stop working.

Use em til they break, they rarely give any issue that would be detrimental to the bike or battery when they fail, just quit charging is normally how they fail. You've got 2 tenders now, not a bad thing to have.

Ha ha!!! It was! Damn auto correct on my iPhone. Good catch. Sometimes it leaves out punctuation as well.
