Default Need help with a weird electrical issue

Good afternoon everyone, I have a 14 ultra limited with 5k miles with what I think is a loose ground somewhere. Long story short the bike got dropped turning around in the middle of the road, the headlight went out right away, got it picked up and turn the ignition off, turned it back on and everything seemed normal except it clicks real fast like a dead battery, I have tried to charge the battery just to be safe but no luck. Any suggestions on where to start to check ground or any other ideas of what it might be.

Check your ground at the battery and go from there.

TP, I would put a voltmeter on the battery, you could use the battery tender plug, then hit the start button. Voltage should stay above 9.8V. How old is the Battery?

Okay I will check that this evening, thanks. And the battery is original, so about 5 +/- years with it being a 14

I had that happen one time and at first it "looked" like the battery cables were tight but after wiggling them for a little bit they twisted. I took the cables off of the battery and cleaned the cables and battery terminals with some sand paper, then coated them with silicone grease, then put some blue Loctite on the threads of the battery screws and reattached. The problem didn't come back until over a year later when the battery finally went south.

I wonder if having that battery turned sideways could have finished it off if it was a little weak? I actually had an AGM battery go nine years on my Shovelhead but that ain't a hard motor to start. I can still kick it over without too much sweat so if the electric starter didn't work it wasn't a big deal.

A 5 year old battery isn`t even worth testing...

Get a new battery and make sure all connections are clean when going back together.
