Default 03 v-rod accessories fuse keeps blowing

I got a 03 v-rod and recently I was getting ready to leave and as I started my bike the speedo light went black. After I looked the rpms were working but the light was still off and the gas gauge isn’t working.

I open up the fuse box and and the accessories fuse was blow. I replaced it about 4 times and evertime I turned the key it blew again. I unplugged everything but it still keeps blowing every time I turn the key.

any help will be really appreciated!

First place I'd look is under the rear fender, happens a lot. Unplug the connector going to the rear lights and see if a new fuse blows.

I unplugged all the lights and everything and the fuse keeps popping when I turn the ignition so does that mean it’s a wire in the wiring harnesses?

Look at the first drawing, O/W comes out of the fuse and goes to Brake switch at the foot pedal, speedometer, tail lights, right hand controls, left hand controls and I think the other is fender tip light. If you unplugged all those things then yes you have a short to ground on the O/W in the main harness. Put an ohm meter on the O/W side of the fuse holder and ground then start wiggling the wire harness. Keep an eye on the meter and it the short clears you may be close to its location.

I didn’t even think about the rear brake pedal. I followed the wire and found one of the wires wrapped around a bolt. I found the short. Thank you for your help.
